The Kahlenberg is 372 m above sea level. NN high hill in the Sankt Ingbert-Kirkeler forest area in the district of the city of St. Ingbert in the Saar- Palatinate district .
The wooded Kahlenberg lies between the core town of St. Ingbert in the northwest, the districts of Rohrbach in the northeast and Hassel in the south. The north-eastern Saar tributary Rohrbach rises north of the mountain and the Stockweiherbach a little south . The federal motorway 6 runs along its northern flank with the St. Ingbert-Mitte junction on state road 111 . On the mountain there has been a hiking hut of the Palatinate Forest Association (PWV) local group Rohrbach, a mountain cross and - on its eastern flank - the Kahlenbergbahn , a now disused chairlift .
Mountain bikers will find a number of single trails on the Kahlenberg . A section of the 50 km long mountain bike route “Die Pur” with the subtitle “Around St. Ingbert” leads over the mountain.
A loop of the St. Ingberter Hüttenweg leads over the Kahlenberg.
On the Kahlenberg there are some former quarries ( red sandstone ), from which material u. a. for the Catholic Church in Hassel was won.
