Kailen Sheridan (born July 16, 1995 in Pickering , Ontario ) is a Canadian soccer goalkeeper who has been under contract with Sky Blue FC in the National Women's Soccer League since the 2017 season .

Career

societies

In 2013 Sheridan played her first league games for the Toronto Lady Lynx team in the semi-professional W-League . During her studies at Clemson University , she then played for the Clemson Tigers team there from 2013 to 2016 . In January 2017 Sheridan was signed in the third round of the college draft of the NWSL in position 23 by Sky Blue FC .

National team

From 2012 to 2015, Sheridan played for the Canadian junior national teams in the U-17, U-20 and U-23 age groups. In March 2016 it was used for the first time in the senior national team as part of the Algarve Cup , Canada won the tournament for the first time in the absence of several top world teams. During the 2016 Olympic Games , she was the substitute goalkeeper for Stephanie Labbé and Sabrina D'Angelo in the extended Canadian squad. She was nominated for the 2019 World Cup because of the injury to Erin McLeod. But it was not used in France.
