Gina Loren Lewandowski (born April 13, 1985 in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania ) is an American football player .

Career

Lewandowski played as a student at Lehigh University from 2003 to 2005 over three seasons for the Mountain Hawks in the Patriot League . In her first year (12 goals in 19 games) she was awarded Rookie of the Year , then for two years in a row the title Offensive Player of the Year. This was followed by a season each for the Northampton Laurels and the Charlotte Lady Eagles in the USL W-League , the second highest division in US women's football.

On July 30, 2007, at the beginning of the 2007/08 season , she moved to Bundesliga club 1. FFC Frankfurt together with Alexandra Krieger . She made her debut on October 7, 2007 (3rd matchday) in a 6-1 win at home against Hamburger SV . After three seasons without scoring, she scored her first Bundesliga goal on October 3, 2010 (8th matchday) in a 5-1 win at home against Bayer 04 Leverkusen with the intermittent 2-0 goal in the 16th minute. She scored her second goal on March 13, 2011 (22nd matchday) in an 8-2 home win against her future club, FC Bayern Munich . On April 6, 2011 she moved to early August on loan to the first division club Western New York Flash , for which she completed six games.

On May 17, 2012, she signed a contract with FC Bayern Munich . The announcement about the change on the homepage of the sports magazine Reviersport became the most-clicked article of all time, as many readers thought that the player Robert Lewandowski would change from Borussia Dortmund to Bayern Munich. She made her debut for FC Bayern Munich in the Bundesliga on September 23, 2012 (3rd matchday) in a 4-0 win at home against FF USV Jena . In 2015 and 2016 she won the German championship with FC Bayern Munich . In 2019, she left FC Bayern Munich and moved back to Sky Blue FC in the USA .

On October 25, 2015, she made her debut in Orlando in the 3-1 win against Brazil in the senior team of the United States.
