The Kirchdorf Kainsbach is a district of Happurg in the district of Nürnberger Land in the state of Bavaria .
location
Kainsbach belongs to the Middle Franconian Alb natural area in the Franconian Alb region . With its northern half, the area includes the Kainsbach valley with the church village of Kainsbach and the hamlet of Mosenhof , while its southern half mainly comprises a plateau with several elevations, between which the village of Schupf is located.
history
Kainsbach is located on the creek of the same name that flows into Lake Happurger See . In a document from 1139 you can read “Chunesbahc”. This in turn points to the personal name Chuoni , in Low High German Kuno . Thus one interprets the origin of the place name with settlement on the brook, which was named after the first settler. Others claim that the name Kainsbach is derived from a certain Geino or Gagino . A castle above Kainsbach, which is said to have been on the Schlossbühl, belonged to him. The Veste Reicheneck shaped the life of the place for a long time. It was destroyed in 1323 by Emperor Ludwig the Bavarian and with it the place. In 1807 the care office on Reicheneck was dissolved and the castle was sold and destroyed.
On July 1, 1971, the previously independent Kainsbach was incorporated into the municipality of Happurg.
nature
About one kilometer west of Kainsbach lies the Kainsbach limestone tufa terrace on a mountain slope . This limestone terrace is designated as a geotope .
