Kalin Lindena

Kalin Lindena (* 1977 in Hanover ) is a German visual artist and has been a professor at the State Academy of Fine Arts in Karlsruhe since 2014 .

Life

Kalin Lindena grew up in Hanover and, as a child, went to the creative groups at the Sprengel Museum there . She began her career as a graffiti sprayer in the streets of Braunschweig. From 1997 to 2004 she studied at the University of Fine Arts Braunschweig with Hartmut Neumann , Johannes Brus and Walter Dahn .

Lindena uses various materials such as spray and oil paint, watercolor and colored pencil, which she applies to different image carriers. She works with paintings, installations and art actions, photography and video. She assembles her sculptures and wall works from found objects and elements she designed herself. "The starting point of her work are often text fragments from pieces of music that she integrates into her work."

Since 2014 she has been a professor at the State Academy of Fine Arts in Karlsruhe in the painting / graphics department. She lives and works in Karlsruhe and Berlin.
