history
The inhabitants of the village, founded in the early 17th century, took part in the last Hajdamak uprising, the Koliyivshchyna uprising , in 1768 . The villagers provided the Hajdamaks with food and weapons made by local artisans.
In 1968, in honor of the 200th anniversary of the uprising, a memorial stone was erected on the outskirts of the village where one of the Hajdamak forges was located. In the spring of 1920, the headquarters of the First Cavalry Army was in Kamyanetsche . A plaque was later installed on the building where the headquarters was located.
While it was part of the Russian Empire , the village was in the Volost Taljanky ( Тальянська волость ) of the Ujesd Uman within the Kiev governorate until 1917 .
