history

The name of the place goes back to its affiliation to the Würzburg monastery . The " Forests , belonging to the Hochstiftischen Kammer" were in the immediate vicinity of the village on the mountains Radstein and Geiersberg. Today the forests are unincorporated. Originally the place was part of the property of the Counts of Stollberg , as early as 1237 the bishopric was able to take over the village rule. Only after mediatization in the 19th century, Kammerforst became part of the Breitbach community.

Attractions

Today the center of the village is the Catholic St. Valentinus Chapel. The church was built in 1708 and was built as a small tent roof with a ridge turret. There are also several wayside shrines around Kammerforst. The oldest of these stone testimonies dates from the 17th century and shows the crucifixion of Christ . Another stick on the road to Breitbach is reminiscent of an altarpiece .
