The canton of Guadalupe is a municipality in the Potosí department in the South American Andean state of Bolivia .

Location in the vicinity

The Cantón Guadalupe is one of two cantons in the district ( Bolivian : Municipio ) San Antonio de Esmoruco in the province of Sur Lípez . It borders in the north and northwest on the municipality of San Pablo de Lípez , in the west on the canton of San Antonio de Esmoruco , in the south and southeast on the Republic of Argentina , and in the northeast on the municipality Mojinete .

The canton stretches between about 21 ° 45 'and 22 ° 08' south latitude and 66 ° 15 'and 66 ° 39' west longitude, it measures up to 30 kilometers from north to south and from west to east. There are eight municipalities in the canton, the central location is Guadalupe in the northern part of the canton with 184 inhabitants. The canton lies at an average altitude of 4100  m .

The canton is located in the Cordillera de Lípez on the southern edge of the Bolivian Altiplano , the climate of the region is semi-arid and has a typical daytime climate.
