The canton Spangenberg was an administrative unit in the Eschwege district of the Werra department in the Napoleonic kingdom of Westphalia . The main town of the canton and seat of the justice of the peace was the town of Spangenberg in today's Hessian Schwalm-Eder district . The canton comprised a city and 20 villages and hamlets.
