Pulpit in Visseiche

The pulpit in the Catholic parish church of St-Pierre in Visseiche , a French parish in the Ille-et-Vilaine department in the Brittany region , was created in 1670. The pulpit was added to the list of architectural monuments in France in 1955 as Monument historique .

The wooden pulpit, which was created by Thomas Hervé, was originally polychrome. The dome-shaped sound cover is crowned by a cross, and a dove is attached to the bottom as a symbol of the Holy Spirit .

The pulpit is decorated with floral carvings on all surfaces. At the bottom it is closed by an upturned and tapering lid. The rear wall, which tapers off at the side, is also decorated with carvings.

The pulpit can be reached via a wooden staircase with balusters .
