Pulpit in Paimpont

The pulpit in the former monastery church and today's parish church of Notre-Dame in Paimpont , a French parish in the Ille-et-Vilaine department in the Brittany region , was created in the 17th century. The pulpit was added to the list of architectural monuments in France in 1919 as Monument historique .

The wooden pulpit is closed by a sound cover crowned with an angel. A dove is attached to the bottom as a symbol of the Holy Spirit .

The pulpit wall is decorated with a bas-relief of Christ blessing with the globe in his left hand and two caryatids in the form of angels.

The pulpit can be reached via a wooden staircase with carved reliefs in the form of plant motifs.
