Kara Denby (born May 28, 1986 in Northridge , California ) is an American freestyle swimmer who is currently studying veterinary medicine at Auburn University .

Career

She currently trains with the Auburn University swim team where she is coached by Richard Quick and Dorsey Walker . Since 2007 she has consistently achieved top rankings in US swimming events. The international swimming scene became particularly aware of her after she won the world championship title in record time with the 4 × 100 m layer relay.
For the Olympic Summer Games in Beijing in
2008 Denby could not yet qualify, as she only finished fifth in the US Olympic Games on the 50 m freestyle course, although she improved her personal best.
