Karen Strong

Karen Ann Strong-Hearth (born September 23, 1953 in Toronto ) is a former Canadian cyclist and cycling trainer.

In 1975, 1976 and 1981, Karen Strong was Canadian road racing champion . Internationally she was successful on the track and was third in the single pursuit at the UCI track world championships in 1977 in San Cristóbal and three years later, at the track world championship in Besançon , vice world champion in this discipline. In 1984 she competed in the Olympic Games in Los Angeles 27th in the road race.

After the end of her active cycling career, Karen Strong became Canadian national coach for four years. Among other things, she trained the four-time Canadian world champion Alison Sydor . In 2007 she developed breast cancer, but recovered from the disease and has been committed to helping cancer patients ever since.
