Allison Beveridge (born June 1, 1993 in Calgary ) is a Canadian cyclist who mainly drives on the track .
Athletic career
Allison Beveridge was initially active in sports as a swimmer. She started cycling at the age of 14. In 2011 she took part in the Pan American Cycling Championships as a junior and won four silver medals.
Beveridge is particularly successful in the team pursuit . In 2014 she became vice world champion in this discipline together with Laura Brown , Jasmin Glaesser and Stephanie Roorda , and in 2015 the Canadian quartet with Beveridge, Glaesser, Kirsti Lay and Roorda won bronze. In the same year, the Canadian team won the team pursuit at the Pan American Games in front of their home crowd in Toronto .
Also at the 2015 Track World Championships, Allison Beveridge won her first individual medal at World Championships in scratch , even though she fell early in the race.
In 2016, Beveridge was nominated for participation in the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro , where she won the bronze medal in the team pursuit together with Laura Brown, Jasmin Glaesser, Kirsti Lay and Georgia Simmerling and finished eleventh in the Omnium.
In the seasons following the Olympic Games, Allison Beveridge continued to achieve success on the track. She won the team pursuit with the Canadian foursome in two races of the Track Cycling World Cup 2017/18 . In 2017 she became the Pan American champion in two-man team driving with Stephanie Roorda and in 2019 with Annie Foreman-Mackey , Ariane Bonhomme and Georgia Simmerling in the team pursuit. At the UCI Track World Championships in 2020 , she started as a co-favorite in the Omnium , but was unable to finish the competition because of a fall.
