Stephanie Roorda (born December 3, 1986 in Calgary ) is a Canadian cyclist who is primarily active on the track .
Athletic career
Stephanie Roorda began her athletic career as a skier at the age of eleven. Until she was 17 years old, she also represented Canada internationally as a skier. She later switched to cycling.
In 2008, Stephanie Roorda was a two-time Canadian champion, in scratch and team pursuit , with Jennifer Trew and Laura Brown . In 2011 she won the gold medal in the team pursuit at the Pan American Championships together with Laura Brown and Jasmin Glaesser . At the UCI Track World Championships in 2014 , the Canadian team with Brown, Glaesser and Allison Beveridge won the runner-up in the team pursuit world championship.
In 2015, Roorda won the Pan American points race and the following year she won the bronze medal in scratch at the 2016 UCI Track World Championships . In 2017 she became the Pan American champion in the two-man team race with Allison Beveridge, and in the team sprint she won silver with Amelia Walsh and bronze in points race and scratch. At the 2018 Commonwealth Games , she finished third in the team pursuit together with Annie Foreman-Mackey , Ariane Bonhomme and Allison Beveridge . In 2018 and 2019 she was the Canadian champion in omnium and two-man team driving .
