Karin Hempel-Soos

Karin Hempel-Soos , pseudonym Katherina Koslowsky , (born March 13, 1939 in Dresden , † October 23, 2009 in Bonn ) was a German writer .

Life

Karin Hempel-Soos grew up in Meiningen / Thuringia . After high school she started in Dresden , a study of German language and literature , political science and economics . In 1959 she fled from the GDR to the Federal Republic of Germany . Here Karin Hempel-Soos continued her studies at the Universities of Cologne and Bonn . She lived in Bonn since 1960 and was active in trade union work and the women's movement . Karin Hempel-Soos had been a member of the SPD since 1968 ; At times she chaired the working group of social democratic women . In 1977 she was one of the founders of the Bonn women's refuge . Since 1980 she has worked as a writer and journalist , at the same time she appeared as a cabaret artist . Since 1994 Karin Hempel-Soos has headed the Bonn House of Language and Literature as a leading figure in the cultural sector .

As an author of poetry , short prose and satires , Karin Hempel-Soos was a member of the Association of German Writers (VS) in the ver.di union . In 1984 she was elected to the federal executive committee at the Saarbrücken congress.
