Karl-Heinz Deutsch (born March 26, 1940 in Karlsruhe ) is a German sculptor .

Life

After an apprenticeship as a ceramic modeller from 1954 to 1957 and subsequent journeyman years, studied German from 1960 to 1965 at the State Academy of Fine Arts in Karlsruhe with Hans Kindermann and Fritz Klemm . He has been a full-time freelance artist since 1965. He dealt intensively with architecture and building sculpture, so he realized more than 75 orders for art in architecture , a. a. a three-storey concrete relief wall for the Gymnasium Wörth , a relief in exposed brickwork for the public library in the Reichardshaus, Ludwigshafen, or a Janus head, bronze, silver-plated for the State Representation of Rhineland-Palatinate, Berlin.

Since 1965 he has been teaching part-time from various universities. In 1988 he was appointed honorary professor at the University of Applied Sciences Rhineland-Palatinate, Department Kaiserslautern.

Deutsch was the initiator, organizer and consultant of the international sculpture symposia in Jockgrim , Kandel, Südliche Weinstrasse, Rodalben and Schweinstal / Kaiserslautern. Since 1977, Deutsch was the organizer of the art exhibitions in the Zehnthaus Jockgrim. From 2005 to 2011 he was 1st Chairman of the Board of Trustees for Art and Monument Preservation eV, Zehnthaus Jockgrim.

Deutsch lives in Jockgrim, since 2001 he has had a studio in Fronte Lamotte in the fortress Germersheim , Germersheim. In 2010 he and his wife donated 44 works of art to the city of Germersheim, which form the basis of the city's new sculpture museum in Fronte Lamotte.

Deutsch is a member of the Palatinate Secession , on whose board he was active from 2000 to 2007.
