Karl Bähr
Karl Christian Wilhelm Felix Bähr (born June 25, 1801 in Heidelberg , † May 15, 1874 in Offenburg ) was a German Protestant theologian .
Life
Bähr was the son of pastor Johannes Bähr (1767-1828) and Johannette Philippine Koch (1779-1829). His older brother was Johann Christian Felix Bähr . After studying philosophy and theology at the Universities of Heidelberg (1818-1821) and Berlin (1822) , he became a deacon in Pforzheim in 1824 . Five years later, in 1829, he was elected pastor in Eichstetten . In 1838 he received an honorary doctorate in theology, in the same year he also held the office of a ministerial councilor and a senior student councilor . He was the senior church councilor of the Evangelical Church in Baden from 1843 to 1861. Here he was particularly committed to reforming the order of worship. Because the restorative spirit of the new agenda of 1855 met resistance from the enlightened bourgeoisie, the upper church council was ousted by the new liberal government in 1860.
From March 1, 1861, Bähr stayed with his sons, who were pastors, in retirement . He was married to Auguste Louise Bohm (1808-1891).
