Karl Brachat

Karl Brachat (born April 24, 1901 in Gailingen am Hochrhein , † May 24, 1971 in Villingen ) was a German educator and politician ( CDU ).

Life

Karl Brachat was born the son of a senior teacher. After graduating from elementary school in Gailingen and attending secondary school through to Untersekunda in Singen , he attended the teachers' seminar in Ettlingen from 1917 to 1920 . He worked from 1921 to 1930, interrupted from 1925 to 1927 by studies at a technical college and at a university, as an assistant teacher / sub-teacher. In 1930 he became a main teacher in Niederrimsingen and from 1933 to 1949 he worked as a main and senior teacher in Pfaffenweiler near Villingen. From 1941 to 1945 he took part in the Second World War as a soldier in the Air Force . From 1949 to 1961 he worked as rector, school councilor and high school councilor in Villingen. In 1966 he retired. Furthermore, since 1958 he has been co-editor of the series for practical school work .

Brachat was a member of the Center Party from 1928 to 1933 . Then since May 1, 1937, member number 4,355,778 of the NSDAP . He joined the Christian Democrats in 1946 and was chairman of the CDU district association in Villingen from 1949 to 1965. From 1952 to 1953 he was a member of the state constituent assembly and then a member of the Baden-Württemberg state parliament until his death , from 1956 to 1971 as chairman of the cultural policy committee. After his death, Alfons Stadler replaced him in parliament.

Karl Brachat had been married to Lydia Hößle since 1930 and had no children.
