Karl Buckow

Karl Buckow (born March 15, 1915 in Berlin ; † December 18, 1979 there ) was a German politician ( CDU ).

Buckow graduated from high school in 1934 and then entered the public service as an inspector candidate . He later worked at the regional council in Berlin. In 1937 he was drafted into the Wehrmacht and was a soldier throughout the Second World War . At the end of the war he was taken prisoner by the British .

From 1948 Buckow studied at the German University of Politics , at the same time he worked as the office manager of the business representation of the Hessian State Ministry in Berlin. In 1951 he passed the diploma examination. In the Berlin election in 1954 , Buckow was elected to the district council of the Wilmersdorf district. In the following election in 1958 he was elected to the Berlin House of Representatives, to which he belonged until 1975.

From 1960 to 1963 Buckow was chairman of the CDU Wilmersdorf. From 1972 he was the chief municipal director in the Wilmersdorf district.
