Karl Butzengeiger

Karl Butzengeiger (born July 7, 1882 in Absberg ; † March 11, 1962 in Munich ) was a German bank manager .

Career

Butzengeiger was born in what is now the Weißenburg-Gunzenhausen district, the son of Matthias and Emma Butzengeiger. The surgeon Otto Butzengeiger was his brother.
He first studied law at the Friedrich Alexander University in Erlangen . In 1903 he became a member of the Onoldia Corps . When he was inactive , he moved to the Ludwig Maximilians University in Munich . He practiced as a lawyer from 1909. From 1910 to 1918 he was an authorized signatory , later director, at Bayerische Treuhand AG. In 1918 he moved to the board of directors of Bayerische Vereinsbank as a deputy member , where he was a full board member from 1921 and from 1956 deputy chairman of the bank's supervisory board . From 1946 to 1948 he was chairman of the supervisory board of the Süddeutsche Bodencreditbank . There he acted as a placeholder for the long-time chairman August von Finck , who had to leave his office due to the denazification regulations . In addition, he was a member of the supervisory boards of several industrial companies. He was instrumental in organizing the German Transport Exhibition in 1953 .
