Karl Doormann (born February 22, 1858 in Rehhorst ; † after 1923) was a grammar school professor and a member of the German Reichstag .

Life

Doormann attended high school in Ratzeburg (Duchy of Lauenburg district) and the universities of Göttingen and Berlin . He studied mathematics, science, philosophy and economics. In May 1882 he passed the state examination and received his doctorate with the text Application of Lamé's functions to problems of potential theory concerning the three-axis ellipsoid and the Fresnel elastic surface . As a teacher he was initially employed at the Schweidnitz grammar school and from 1883 in Brieg . In 1899/1900 he was a senior teacher in Bunzlau and from then on in Königshütte . Between 1896 and 1899 he was a city councilor in Brieg and since 1905 in Königshütte. He served in the 82nd Regiment in 1880/81. Doormann was often literary and speaking.

From 1907 to 1918 Doormann was a member of the German Reichstag in the constituency of Liegnitz 4 ( Lüben , Bunzlau ) for the Free People's Party and the Progressive People's Party .

Doormann retired on April 1, 1923.
