Karl Georg Zschaetzsch
Karl Georg Zschaetzsch (born June 18, 1870 in Crossen an der Oder , Prussia ; † unknown) was a German author, ariosoph and National Socialist racial ideologist .
His main works, the publications "Origin and History of the Aryan Tribe" (1920) and "Atlantis, the Urheimat der Arier" (1922) published by the Berlin Arier Verlag , became bestsellers in Germany in the interwar period, although the book published in 1922 was only a short version of his main work, written in 1920.
Atlantis, the original home of the Aryans
In it he developed a fantastic prehistory and early history, according to which there had already been a Sinth Hunger caused by drought , a Sintsturm and a Sintbrand caused by a comet impact (cf. Ekpyrosis ) before the Flood that finally swallowed Atlantis . Apart from the "negroes", who were blackened by the Sintbrand, only three original Aryans survived: an aged foster father ( Wodan ), a newborn boy ( Thor ) and his sister ( Freya ), who was first his foster mother and then his Wife, and from whom all later Aryans descended. These three then became God the Father, Adam and Eve in the biblical tradition. The Aryans descended from them would have conquered the world from Atlantis and founded colonies around the world. Everywhere where the Aryan settlers mixed with non-Aryan natives, high cultures emerged, for example in Egypt, Mesopotamia, ancient Athens, Peru, etc. However, these cultures perished again precisely as a result of the continued mixing of races.
On the Atlantic home island itself, the Aryans were displaced by immigrant non-Aryans after bitter fighting and were finally forced to emigrate to Northern Europe. The non-Aryan New Atlanteans then attacked the Mediterranean, Old Athens and Egypt, but were crushed by the Old Athenians.
The last “pure” Aryans would then have spread from Northern Europe via Germania and the Eastern European Baltic to Southern Europe, Africa and Asia, where they continued to mix. The original Hellenes should also descend from the Aryans, Zschaetzsch's own name represents an Aryan original form of the Greek name Zeus .
For his theory, Zschaetzsch not only adopted the Greek myths of gods, but also the entire Jewish-Biblical tradition, ancient American traditions and most of the pre-Christian pagan cults and festivals, all of which he interpreted as misunderstood or distorted versions of a supposed Atlantic prehistory.
aftermath
Zschaetzsch's Atlantis book was one of the most extreme examples of a racist zeitgeist that drove grotesque flowers. For example, SS leader Heinrich Himmler's temporary search for Atlantis should also be classified. Zschaetzsch published further racist writings in Arier-Verlag, which often came up with similarly absurd content or were based on such constructs, such as his naming assumptions published in 1934 in the book Uralte Kippen- und Familiennames . After the fourth, revised edition of Atlantis, Urheimat was published in 1937 , its traces were lost.
The magistrate of Berlin classified Zschaetzsch as a Nazi clan researcher or counted him among the authors whose entire production is to be removed and put his works on the list of literature to be sorted out in 1946 . Of course, this did not prevent his literature - and similar writings by other comparable authors such as Heinrich Pudor , Herman Wirth and Siegfried Kadner - from being received positively in right-wing extremist circles and used as an identity-creating, pseudo-historical element.
