Karl Gramminger (born November 22, 1926 - † July 14, 2015 ) was a German football player.

Career

The student of the Tulla-Gymnasium made his debut on March 7, 1943 in a 5-1 win against VfTuR Feudenheim at the Mannheim district club VfL Neckarau with a goal in the Gauliga Baden . Twin brother Martin made his debut on October 31, 1943 in a 6: 4 victory for KSG VfL / 07 Neckarau against KSG Käfertal / Phönix Mannheim in the Gauliga. It was the first joint appearance of the twin brothers in the 1st team from Neckarau. They played in attack at the side of center forward Willi Preschle . After the end of the Second World War, the twins joined the BC 01 in Cologne during a study visit to Cologne in January 1947 . After the end of the second half of the season, Karl and Martin returned to Neckarau and played again for VfL Neckarau. In the 1947/48 season, VfL was ranked 16th in the southern soccer league and rose to 16 clubs from the 1948/49 season as a result of the season reduction in the North Baden regional league.

After two seasons, the promotion to the Oberliga Süd succeeded and the class could be held with 11th place . With the renewed relegation in the following season as bottom of the table , he left the club. Karl was led with 116 league games and 40 goals from 1946 to 1952 and Martin with 132 league games and 30 goals at VfL Neckarau.

From 1952 to 1958 he was active for Fortuna Düsseldorf in the Oberliga West in 156 point games, in which he scored 81 goals. His premier season he finished with his team in ninth place, with sixth place, 1954/55 , 1955/56 and 1956/57 , the best placement. While he was a member of the club, he was also used in the DFB Cup competition; In 1956 he was used in the semifinals in the 1: 2 defeat against Hamburger SV and scored the only goal for his team with the connection goal in the 79th minute. In 1957 he was used again in the semi-finals against Hamburger SV; this time Fortuna Düsseldorf won 1-0. The final, which was held in Augsburg's Rosenaustadion on December 29, 1957, was lost 0-1 to FC Bayern Munich with a goal scored by Rudolf Jobst in the 77th minute.

At the end of his football career, he played 64 points games (20 goals) for Bayer 04 Leverkusen in the 2nd Oberliga West from 1958 to 1961 . Bayer 04 achieved the best round result in 1960/61 with 3rd place, behind the two league promoters Schwarz-Weiß Essen (1st) and Fortuna Düsseldorf (2nd). The Gramminger twins played alongside players like Heinz Höher , Uwe Klimaschefski and Hans-Otto Peters . Karl later moved to Nürtingen , where he started in the in-laws' business and also trained in FV 09 Nürtingen . Brother Martin stayed in the West and worked as a coach at VfL Benrath and in Neuss, where he also settled at home.
