Karl Hoffacker
Karl Hoffacker (born July 1, 1856 in Darmstadt , † May 26, 1919 in Karlsruhe ) was a German architect , sculptor and technical school teacher.
Life
Hoffacker studied at the Technical University of Karlsruhe . From 1881 he worked at the Berlin Museum of Decorative Arts , first as an assistant and from 1883 as a teacher. In 1886 he switched to the Royal Art School in (Berlin-) Charlottenburg . From 1884 to 1889 he was also part-time director of the drawing school of the Lette Association in Berlin.
In 1901 Hoffacker initially accepted an appointment as director of the Kunstgewerbeschule in Zurich, but in the same year decided to go to Karlsruhe instead as director of the Kunstgewerbeschule and the Kunstgewerbemuseum. There he was elected part-time to the board of the Karlsruhe Arts and Crafts Association. From 1895 to 1905 he was also the editor of the journal Kunstgewerbeblatt .

- 1897–99: “Künstlerhaus” of the Association of Berlin Artists , Bellevuestraße 3
- 1902: Exhibition hall of Friedrich Krupp AG at the Rheinisch-Westfälische industrial and trade exhibition in Düsseldorf (architecture not preserved, only steel construction reused)
- Stained glass window in the town hall in Heidelberg
