Karl Morré

Karl Morré , also: Karl Morre , (born November 8, 1832 in Klagenfurt , † February 21, 1897 in Graz ) was an Austrian folk poet, playwright and member of the Reichsrat .

Life

Karl Morré comes from the Gottscheer merchant family Morré. He was a farmer in Leibnitz . From 1848 Morre lived in Styria as an administrative and financial officer. He retired in 1883.

In 1886 he was a member of the Styrian state parliament . From 1891 to 1893 he was a member of the moderate German wing in the Vienna Reichsrat.

Karl Morré died in his residential building at Annenstraße 52 in Graz in 1897 and was buried to rest in the Graz Central Cemetery , followed by his wife, Magdalena, who, at the age of 74, died on March 4, 1903 in Graz.
