Karl Philipp von Gemmingen

Karl Philipp von Gemmingen (born May 24, 1771 in Ansbach ; † July 10, 1831 in Bonfeld ) was the royal Prussian canon in Cammin , commander of the Zähringer Order of Lions and lord of the castle in Bonfeld's upper castle .

Life

He was a son of the Brandenburg-Ansbach Minister Karl Friedrich Reinhard von Gemmingen (1739-1822) and the Philippine Magdalena von Wöllwarth -Lauterburg (1750-1825). The parents had a total of eleven children, but Karl Philipp was the only son who reached adulthood and outlived his father. He studied with Johann Heinrich Liebeskind law in Göttingen and was followed some time assessor at Government College in Ansbach. He managed the inherited property in Bonfeld, namely the Bonfeld Upper Castle with its accessories. He died in Bonfeld in 1831 and was buried in the Bonfeld cemetery , where his grave site has been preserved to this day. His widow later moved to Karlsruhe , where she was followed by her daughter Auguste, who was widowed at an early age and worked for the Baden Women's Association. His son Eduard managed the property in Bonfeld after him, and after his early death the older son Karl Weiprecht Reinhard.

From March 1, 1797 he was married to Sophie Auguste Louise von Degenfeld- Neuhaus (1767-1802), a daughter of Christoph Eberhard Friedrich von Degenfeld and widow of Karl von St. André, who died in 1790 . After the death of his first wife in 1803 he married her sister Eberhardine Christiane von Degenfeld-Neuhaus (1773-1847).
