Karl Riesenhuber

Karl Riesenhuber (* 1967 in Kufstein ) is a German university professor . He holds the chair for civil law , German and European commercial and economic law at the Law Faculty of the University of Bochum . In addition, he has been a judge at the Hamm Higher Regional Court since 2015 . Riesenhuber published several publications in the field of contract , labor and copyright law as well as methodology .

Life

Riesenhuber studied law from 1986 to 1991 at the Albert-Ludwigs-Universität Freiburg and at the School of Law at the University of Texas at Austin in the United States . He completed his legal clerkship at the Higher Regional Court in Berlin . He received his doctorate in 1997 at the University of Potsdam , followed by his habilitation in 2002 at the University of Erlangen-Nuremberg . Subsequently, he represented the chair for civil law , German and European labor and commercial law at the European University Viadrina in Frankfurt (Oder), which he held as a full professor from 2004. He has been teaching at the Ruhr University in Bochum since 2006, where he holds the chair for civil law, German and European commercial and economic law.

Since April 2015 he has also been a judge at the Hamm Higher Regional Court (8th civil senate).

Karl Riesenhuber is married and has five children.
