Karl Sindermann
Karl Sindermann (born February 22, 1869 in Baumgarten , Frankenstein district , Silesia , † January 26, 1922 in Dresden ) was a social democratic member of the Reichstag during the German Empire and a long-standing Saxon member of the state parliament before and after the First World War . Karl Sindermann was the father of the Saxon state parliament member Kurt Sindermann and the well-known GDR politician Horst Sindermann . His eldest son Fritz Sindermann (1897–1915) died in the First World War .
Life
Karl Sindermann completed an apprenticeship as typesetter after attending elementary school in 1882 and worked in this profession until 1898. Sindermann was one of the leading social democratic politicians in Saxony from the 1890s . From 1898 he worked as an accountant and later as managing director of the Dresden party printing company Kaden & Co., where he had probably already done his apprenticeship. Sindermann thus had room for political activity, among other things as the Saxon SPD state chairman from 1899 to 1922. From 1903 to 1907 Sindermann represented the SPD in the Reichstag of the German Empire. He was also elected to the Saxon state parliament for the first time in 1903 and remained there until its dissolution as a result of the November Revolution . In 1919 Sindermann led the SPD parliamentary group as chairman of the short-lived Saxon People's Chamber . Weakened due to illness, he was re-elected to the new state parliament in 1920, but had no more offices. Sindermann shaped Dresden city politics as a city councilor from 1906 until his death in early 1922 after a serious illness.
