Karl Spiro studied chemistry in Berlin , Greifswald and Würzburg , where he in 1889 to Dr. phil. received his doctorate . During his studies he became a member of the Greifswald Student Song Board in the Sondershäuser Association . He devoted himself to the study of medicine in Breslau , Berlin , Strasbourg and Leipzig , which he in 1893 with the graduation to the Dr. med. completed.
