Karl Waltzinger (born November 11, 1908 in Ottweiler ; † September 10, 1993 in Saarbrücken ) was a German administrative lawyer, most recently President of the Saarland Court of Audit.

Life

Waltzinger attended the Wendalinum grammar school , where he passed his Abitur in 1928. He started at the University of Würzburg to study law and was 1929 at the Corps Moenania recipiert . When he was inactive , he moved to the Johann Wolfgang Goethe University in Frankfurt am Main . In 1932 he passed the first state examination in law. In 1933 Waltzinger was promoted to Dr. jur. PhD. After passing the second state examination in Düsseldorf, he was an assessor at the customs administration in Düsseldorf, and later a government assessor at the main customs offices in Würzburg, Kleve and Saarbrücken. In 1938 he was Councilor in Rudolstadt . As a first lieutenant in the artillery in the army (Wehrmacht) , he was taken prisoner by the Soviets in August 1944. In 1949 he was discharged seriously ill. He returned to Saarland and in 1950 joined the Ministry of Finance there. Since 1952 he has been a senior government councilor , and in 1956 he became the representative of the Saarland at the federal level. He was promoted to Government Director in 1957 , Ministerial Councilor in 1958, Ministerial Director in 1962 and Ministerial Director in 1967. From 1968 until his retirement (1973) he was President of the Saarland Audit Office . Under Philipp W. Fabry he formed the (so far strongest) board of the Association of Old Corps Students (VAC) with Christian Helfer and Hubertus Rolshoven from 1972 to 1976. His two sons also became corps students. Waltzinger died at the age of 85 and was buried in the Scheidt cemetery (Saarbrücken) .
