Karl Weise (architect)

Karl Weise , often also Carl Weise , (born April 12, 1844 in Mellingen , † September 15, 1926 in Eisenach ) was a German architect and construction clerk in the Grand Duchy of Saxony-Weimar-Eisenach .

Life

Weise studied at the Dresden Polytechnic and with the architect Friedrich Hitzig in Berlin. In 1881 he settled in Erfurt and in May 1882 passed the examination as a master builder for agriculture and structural engineering as well as for water and road construction. In 1885 he entered the civil service in the Grand Duchy of Saxony-Weimar-Eisenach and from 1885 to 1889 he was Grand Ducal master builder in the 4th administrative district with his seat in Dermbach (Rhön). From 1889 to 1896 he worked in the II. Administrative district with its seat in Apolda and from 1896 to 1916 in the III. Administrative district based in Eisenach. In 1916 he was retired. He also published studies on the design of Protestant church buildings and in 1887 registered a roof covering for a patent (No. 39199 DR-P.).
