Karlheinz Kuhn

Karlheinz Kuhn , also Karl-Heinz Kuhn (born October 26, 1930 in Leipzig , † February 23, 2001 in Rostock ), was a German painter and graphic artist .

Life

After attending primary school in Leipzig, Karlheinz Kuhn initially trained as a lithographer from 1945 to 1948 . This was followed from 1949 to 1953 at the University of Graphic and Book Art in Leipzig , which was completed with "distinction". His teachers included Kurt Massloff and Walter Arnold . For the years 1953–1957 an aspiration followed, which was connected with a teaching position at the Leipzig University.

From 1957 Kuhn took up residence in Rostock, where he mainly worked as a freelance commercial artist. From 1961 to 1968 he was a lecturer in graphics and book art at the University of Rostock , followed by the position of senior assistant with teaching activities again at the Leipzig University from 1968 to 1978. At the same time, he continued to work as a freelancer in Rostock.

Karlheinz Kuhn was chairman of the Association of Visual Artists of the GDR , Rostock District Association , from 1978 to 1983 , at the same time he also headed the Central Working Group of Visual Arts of the People's Navy . Study trips took Kuhn to Sweden in 1979 and to Austria and Hungary in 1980. Karlheinz Kuhn died in Rostock in 2001 at the age of 70.
