Karlsbrunn is a district (approx. 1300 inhabitants) of the community Großrosseln in the Saarland regional association Saarbrücken . Until the end of 1973, Karlsbrunn was an independent municipality.

The place is located in a meadow valley that is largely surrounded by forest. To the north-east was the Warndt hard coal mine , which was closed in mid-2005 , most recently the Warndt / Luisenthal facility of the Saar mine .

The place was founded in 1717.
On April 1, 1964, the municipality of Dorf im Warndt was re-established by hiving off the municipalities of Großrosseln, Karlsbrunn and Ludweiler .
As part of the regional and administrative reform in Saarland , the previously independent municipality of Karlsbrunn was assigned to the municipality of Großrosseln on January 1, 1974.

Worth seeing
The largest attraction is an extensive wildlife park , which, with its extensive hiking trails, is one of the most important local recreational opportunities in the Warndt .
On the second weekend in November there will be a sales and presentation exhibition with Warndt products in Karlsbrunn. On the last Saturday before Christmas, a solemn shepherd's parade with a living nativity scene takes place in the courtyard of the Karlsbrunn hunting lodge.
The forest garden of the former Karlsbrunn hunting lodge belongs to the ensemble of Gardens without Borders in the Saar, Lorraine, Luxembourg region.
The Protestant Church of Karlsbrunn was completed in 1897.
Karlsbrunn has a lively club life and is a popular place to live in the Warndt region.
Sons and daughters of the church
- The Commander in Chief of the Allied Forces in Europe during World War II and 34th President of the United States (1953–1961), Dwight D. Eisenhower , had German roots . One ancestor was the emigrant Johann (Hans) Nicolaus Eisenhauer (* 1690) from Karlsbrunn, who arrived on November 17, 1741 in Bethel Township, Lancaster (today: Lebanon County), in the US state of Pennsylvania .
