Karsten Brandt (born May 25, 1973 in Bonn ) is a German entrepreneur and book author. He is the founder and managing director of Donnerwetter.de GmbH.

Life

Brandt founded the Brandt Wetter weather service while still at school in 1991 . After the Abitur at the Ernst-Moritz-Arndt-Gymnasium Bonn (1992) he called www.donnerwetter.de to life, claims to be one of the first private weather service sites in Germany. After studying business administration at the University of Hagen (graduated as Diplom-Kaufmann , 2001) as well as the history , politics and economics (graduating as Master , 2004) received his PhD Karsten Brandt, 2007 at the University of Duisburg-Essen for Dr. rer. nat. In his doctorate, Brandt dealt with the economic evaluation of meteorological processes.

In his writings, Brandt criticizes the scientific consensus on global warming and, as a result, what he believes is a lack of climate policy. In particular, he advocates the thesis that the importance of CO 2 compared to other climate factors , such as ocean currents or sunspots , is generally overestimated.

Brandt has also written travel literature and popular science literature on the subject of weather and the regional history of the Siebengebirge .

Karsten Brandt is also present in various media: Mondays to Fridays several times a day as "Radio Bonn / Rhein-Sieg-Wettermann" , also on Radio Eins and NDR 2 . He also appears irregularly on the TV broadcaster Phoenix as an expert on the topics of weather and climate.
