Kaspar Albrecht (born August 22, 1889 in Au , Rehmen; † March 25, 1970 there ) was an Austrian architect and sculptor.

biography

Kaspar Albrecht grew up in a rather poor family in a large family in Au-Rehmen in the Bregenzerwald . His artistic training began with attending the state trade school in Innsbruck from 1906 to 1910. He then studied in Munich at the municipal trade school and in Vienna with Josef Müllner at the Academy of Fine Arts . In addition to the sculptural work, he was also active as an architectural artist.

As an architect, his biggest assignment was the forest house in Kohler Village , Wisconsin (USA). Johann Michael Kohler , the father of the industrialist Walter Jodok Kohler , also came from the Bregenzerwald (* 1844 in Schnepfau ). From 1951 he was a member of the National Geographic Society (USA). After his stay in Kohler Village from 1929–1931, another stay in the USA took place in 1957/58 for the inauguration of a bronze plaque in the Kohler Memorial Theater. In 1961 he received the honorary gift and in 1968 the silver medal of honor of the state of Vorarlberg .
