Kaspar Kaltenmoser (born December 25, 1806 in Horb am Neckar , † March 8, 1867 in Munich ) was a German painter .

Life

Kaltenmoser first worked as a lithographer and joined the Munich Academy in 1830 . Four years later, Kaltenmoser was already a very popular artist, whose pub scene was lithographed as a club paper in 1834 . Nevertheless, he turned back to lithography with Gottlieb Bodmer , not least to improve his position. A study trip to Istria undertaken in 1843 gave many suggestions and ended with the return trip via northern Italy .

Kaspar Kaltenmoser was the father of three painters: Max Kaltenmoser (1842–1887), Albert Kaltenmoser (1844–1871) and Karl Kaltenmoser (1853–1923).
