Kastrup Sogn is a parish ( Danish : Sogn ) on the island of Amager southeast of the Danish capital Copenhagen . It was created on January 1, 1818 by splitting off from Tårnby Sogn .
Until 1970 it belonged to Harde Sokkelund Herred in what was then Københavns Amt , then to Tårnby Kommune in the smaller Københavns Amt , which became part of the Hovedstaden region as part of the municipal reform on January 1, 2007 . In addition to the main town of Kastrup, the parish includes the islands of Saltholm and Peberholm .
Of the 42,539 inhabitants of Tårnby, 10,037 live in the parish of Kastrup (as of January 1, 2020). The church "Kastrup Kirke" is located in the parish.
Neighboring communities are Tårnby Sogn in the south and Korsvejens Sogn in the west , and in the neighboring Københavns Kommune ( German : Copenhagen ) Simon Peders Sogn . The parish is connected to neighboring Sweden via the Øresund Bridge .
