Kate Abdo (* September 8, 1981 in Manchester as Kate Giles , actually Kate Abdolmajid ) is a British journalist who worked as a presenter for the German pay-TV channel Sky Sport News HD . Since January 2014 she has been working for the British broadcaster Sky Sports News in London .

life and career

In 2003, Kate Abdo obtained the Translating and Interpreting Degree at the University of Málaga in Spain after two years of study . This was followed by Spanish, French, English and German studies at Salford University in England from 2004 to 2005 .

In 2005 Abdo completed an internship at Deutsche Welle TV in the foreign language editorial team. From 2006 to 2007 she worked as a production assistant for the German Football League at Goal! The Bundesliga Magazine and was also a sports news presenter for Deutsche Welle TV until 2009. Three times (2010, 2011 and 2013) she has been the moderator of the draw for the group stage of the UEFA Europa League in Monaco . From 2009 to 2011 she was the sports news presenter on CNN International (London) World Sport Show! active. From August 1, 2011, she worked for Sky Germany , where she made a significant contribution to the development of the Sky Sport News HD channel and was the head anchor from December 1, 2011 to November 24, 2013. In 2013 Abdo also hosted the Shooting Star program on RTL . In 2015 and 2016 she moderated the Ballon d'Or awards in Zurich . On May 2nd, 2015 Abdo hosted the game show 1000 - Who is number 1? Together with Johannes B. Kerner . .

Besides England, Abdo lived in Spain, France and Germany. In addition to English, she also speaks Spanish , French and German fluently.
