The construction of the church was carried out by the Admonter Bauhütte. architecture
- Church exterior
The church is surrounded by a walled cemetery .
The choir has simple buttresses , the nave with slightly retracted buttresses has these over the corner with pinnacles . The west portal is a pointed arch, the north-facing choir portal is a curtain arch with a rich framework . The massive five-storey Gothic west tower with Gothic sound windows and a window on the south side has an eaves cornice and an eight-sided pointed helmet on four triangular gables from 1858 in this form. The pointed helmet was renewed after a lightning strike in 1951. The rectangular sacristy extension in the southern corner of the choir has two bays and is vaulted with groin . The cellar is an ossuary , the upper floor an oratory .
- Church interior
The two-bay choir with a three-eighth closure has an irregular net rib vault with loop ribs on round services. The constricted front arch is approximately rounded. The wide three-bay, two-aisled nave hall has an eight-part star rib vault on slightly retracted buttresses and on circular services on two rectangular pillars. The star rib vault is spiral-twisted in the eastern yoke, analogous to the Leoben-Göss parish church, which was also created by the Admonter Bauhütte . The church has Gothic pointed arch windows - the tracery has been removed - with glazing from 1902. The baroque west gallery with a wooden parapet was built in in the 18th century. The tower hall on the ground floor has a star rib vault on consoles .
Furnishing
The high altar , donated in 1673, was changed in 1785. The high altar picture shows the Assumption of the Virgin Mary, the upper picture shows St. Catherine. He carries the statues of Saints John the Evangelist and Florian and in the essay the Archangel Michael. According to the coat of arms, the side altars were donated by Abbot Raimund Rehling (1659–1675).
The Gothic font with 16 grooves on a round base has a lid with a baroque statue of John the Baptist from 1700.
The organ was built by Simon Hötzel in 1823. It was renovated by Friedrich Wagner in 1854 and expanded by Konrad Hopferwieser senior in 1898, and restored in 1925 and 1947. Hans Mitter mentions one bell in 1458 and a second in 1541.
