Kathrin Richter

Kathrin Richter (* 1961 in Munich ) is a German screenwriter and director .

Life

Richter was born in Munich in 1961 and studied at the Munich University of Television and Film . Her first screenplay for a feature film, which she wrote with Ralf Hertwig , was made into a film by Rainer Kaufmann and published in 1994 under the title One of my oldest friends . The film was nominated for a Grimme Prize and was awarded the Max Ophüls Prize . In 1996 Richter wrote and directed the TV film Trials of Courage with Lilly Tschörtner and Sophie Schulz in the leading roles. In the years that followed, numerous other collaborations with Kaufmann followed, such as with Kalt ist der Abendhauch (2000), Bella Block: Blackout (2007), Beste Bescherung (2013) or Die Puppenspieler (2017). Her screenplay for Helen, Fred and Ted , which she wrote together with Gabriela Sperl , was nominated for the 2007 German TV Prize in 2007 .

Kathrin Richter is a member of the German Film Academy .
