Katia Murmann Amirhosseini (born December 13, 1980 ) is a Swiss - German journalist . She is the digital editor-in-chief of the Blick Group, Blick.ch and blickamabend.ch .

Career

Murmann began her journalistic career during school as a freelancer for the Pegnitz-Zeitung , the Nürnberger Nachrichten and the Nürnberger Zeitung . After graduating from high school, she attended the German School of Journalism in Munich (40th editorial department) and studied politics, communication science and oriental studies in Munich and Tehran . She wrote her thesis on the working conditions of foreign correspondents in Iran .

During her studies, she did internships at Spiegel TV in Hamburg, the Süddeutsche Zeitung in Munich and the Tages-Anzeiger in Zurich. In 2016, a three-month advanced training course with a focus on digital media followed in Silicon Valley and at the University of Berkeley .

In 2004 Katia Murmann started as a reporter at Blick . In 2006 she went as a founding member of the new Sunday newspaper Sonntag , where she u. a. overseas. In 2011, she moved to the SonntagsZeitung , where she was deputy head of the focus department and head of foreign affairs. Murmann has been working for the Blick Group again since 2013, initially as head of news at SonntagsBlick and member of the editor-in-chief, where she was responsible for the digital appearance of SonntagsBlick . From August 2016 to February 2017, she was the chief editor-in-chief of the SonntagsBlick . i. She has been the digital editor-in-chief of the Blick Group since 2017 and as such is responsible for Blick.ch and blickamabend.ch .

Katia Murmann is a jury member of the Dr. Georg Schreiber-Medienpreis, the Transparency Award of the Association Demokratie.ch and the Swiss Comedy Award in the category Online as well as member of the International Publishing Unit at Ringier .

Murmann is committed to women's empowerment and the compatibility of children and career. She is one of the initiators of the Edit-a-thons of SRF , Ringier and Wikimedia, which aims to bring women's biographies on Wikipedia.

Murmann is married, has three children and lives with her family in Zurich.
