Katrin Langhans

Katrin Langhans (* 1987 ) is a German investigative journalist . The u. a. Reporter , who was awarded the Nannen Prize and the German Reporter Prize, writes for the Süddeutsche Zeitung . Her specialty is international data research and stories that take a look behind the scenes of agricultural and development policy .

Career

Langhans passed her Abitur at the Rupert-Neudeck-Gymnasium of the municipality of Nottuln and traveled through Mexico, Australia and India before she enrolled in 2008 in the subjects of German and " Culture , Individual and Society" at the University of Bochum . After completing her bachelor's degree in 2011, she completed a twelve-month training course at the Zeitenspiegel reportage school in Reutlingen with a grant from the Fazit Foundation . She then wrote as a regular and freelance writer for Chrismon and Stiftung Warentest as well as Spiegel Online and Context: Wochenzeitung . From March 2014 to February 2016, she completed an internship at the Süddeutsche Zeitung . Since summer 2016 she has been a member of the “Investigative Research” editorial team at Süddeutsche .

As part of the team that unveiled the Panama Papers , Langhans was awarded the Nannen Prize and the German Reporter Prize. Langhans' research team was nominated for the Nannen Prize in the "Investigation" category for the report "Das Scheingeschäft" published in SZ-Magazin in July 2018 about dubious entrepreneurs posing as specialist publishers who would publish the greatest nonsense for money.

Langhans has been part of the management team at the Reutlingen Report School since 2019 .
