Katrin Triendl (born January 20, 1987 ) is a former Austrian ski racer from Oberperfuss in Tyrol , whose strongest discipline was the slalom . She was once among the top ten in the World Cup , became Austrian slalom champion in 2007 and won three medals at junior world championships .

Career

Katrin Triendl drove for the SV Oberperfuss ski club , attended the ski school in Stams and was a member of the Austrian Ski Association (ÖSV) since 2003 . In 2002 she had won all three Whistler Cup competitions in her age group. At the Junior World Championships in Bardonecchia in 2005 , she won the bronze medal in the downhill . The following year she won the silver medal in slalom and the bronze medal in combination at the Junior World Championships 2006 in Mont Sainte-Anne . In 2007 she became Austrian state champion in slalom.

In the 2005/06 season Triendl reached fifth place in the overall European Cup ranking. In the same winter, she contested her first World Cup race with the slalom in Lienz . In her third World Cup race on December 29, 2006, she won her first World Cup points with 20th place in the slalom on Semmering . From the 2007/08 season she was regularly used in World Cup slaloms, but could only rarely score. She achieved her best World Cup result on December 29, 2007 with ninth place in the slalom in Lienz. For the third and last time, she won World Cup points two weeks later with 20th place in Maribor .

In October 2009 Triendl suffered a cruciate ligament rupture during slalom training in Sölden . She was then unable to take part in any more races and announced her retirement in November 2010. Triendl is in a relationship with the Swiss ski racer Beat Feuz . The couple had a daughter in the summer of 2018.
