Katsuhito Nishikawa (* 1949 in Tokyo ; 西川 勝 人 ) is a Japanese-German visual artist. His work includes architecture, design, graphics, painting, sculpture and drawing.

Life

He studied at the Keiō University in Tokyo until 1972 , from 1974 to 1976 at the Academy of Fine Arts in Munich and from 1976 to 1980 at the Düsseldorf Art Academy . Nishikawa lives and works in Neuss .

Works

One of his most famous works is the rocket station in Hombroich , part of the Insel Hombroich Foundation , which he designed on behalf of Karl-Heinrich Müller together with Erwin Heerich and Oliver Kruse from 1994 onwards.

For the office furniture manufacturer Löffler in Reichenschwand , Nishikawa designed, among other things, the “NK1” office chair.
