AB Kauno energija is an energy supply company with its headquarters in Lithuania's second largest city, Kaunas . It provides electricity and district heating and operates a thermal power station for this purpose . The company is listed on the Vilnius Stock Exchange.

history

In 1997 the branches ("Kauno elektrinė" and "Kauno šilumos tinklai ") were reorganized from AB " Lietuvos energija " to specialios paskirties akcinė bendrovė "Kauno energija" (SPAB "Kauno energija"). The company was established on August 22, 1997 and since 2000 AB is "Kauno energija". In 2000 there were 2,239 employees. In 2013 Kauno energija achieved a turnover of 94 million euros (322.3 million Lt) and a profit of 1 million euros (3.4 million Lt).
