Utenos trikotažas is a textile company based in Utena , Lithuania . The joint stock company is a subsidiary of the Lithuanian group Koncernas SBA .

history

The main company was built from 1965 to 1968. The first production appeared in 1966. On July 25, 1967, the company was set up as a Producing Association ( Melnikaitės trikotažo ir galanterijos gamybinis susivienijimas ). It consisted of Utenos trikotažo fabrikas and Zarasų tekstilės galanterijos fabrikas . The project output was 17.7 million jersey units per year. Production grew until 1989. In 1989 there were 19.4 million jersey units, 30% of which were sold in Lithuania and 70% in the republics of the Soviet Union . In 1978 there were 3,000 employees. In 1990, Nijolė Dumbliauskienė was appointed general director of the state enterprise “Utenos trikotažas” based on the decision of the Minister of Light Industry .

In 1993 “Utenos trikotažas” became private. In 1994 it became AB “Utenos trikotažas” with registered capital of 18,877,021 litas . In 1995 the subsidiary UAB “Utenos trikotažo prekyba” was established. In 1998 the capital of AB “Utenos trikotažas” was 23,260,491 Lt. It has been listed on the Vilnius Stock Exchange since 1999 and has ISO 9001 certification and ISO 14001 certification since 2001 .

In December 2016 there were 773 employees.
