Snaigė (Eng. ' Snowflake ') is a Lithuanian refrigerator manufacturer based in Alytus . The company is listed on the NASDAQ OMX Vilnius . In 2005 it achieved a turnover of 372.128 million Litas (107.78 million EUR) and a profit of 15.04 million Litas .
history
In 1963, 25 "Snaigė-1" refrigerators were manufactured manually in the Soviet-Lithuanian factory Alytaus šaldytuvų gamykla ('Alytus Refrigerator Factory). In 1972 the company employed a total of 1,900 people. After continuous development and automation of production, more than a million of the refrigerators (six models) were produced by 1975. From 1983 onwards, "Snaigė" brand refrigerators were exported to Poland , Hungary , Bulgaria and Cuba outside of the Soviet Union . Today the company produces for " Whirlpool ", " Fagor Brandt " and other brands.
