The Stuckenplatz nature reserve with a size of 11.4  hectares is located northwest of Alme in the urban area of Brilon . The area was designated as a nature reserve (NSG) by the Hochsauerlandkreis in 2008 with the Hoppecketal landscape plan . In the east it borders the Almetal nature reserve . In the east, the NSG borders on the Almetalbahn and in the north on the Mönchspiele nature reserve .

Area description

The NSG is a mosaic of humid open land and forest habitats. In the open country there are nist grass lawns , pipe grass meadows and wet heather vegetation. In the forest there are predominantly red alder swamps and red spruce forests .

Protection purpose

In the NSG, the local mosaic of moist open land and forest habitats with its species inventory is to be protected. As with all nature reserves in Germany, the protection designation pointed out that the area became a nature reserve “because of the rarity, special character and beauty of the area”.
