Stadtwald am Bindel nature reserve

The nature reserve Stadtwald am Bindel with a size of 30.46 hectares is located east of Scharfenberg in the city of Brilon . The area was designated as a nature reserve (NSG) by the Hochsauerlandkreis in 2008 with the landscape plan of the Brilon plateau . The Bindel nature reserve is directly adjacent to the northeast .

Area description

The NSG is a forest area with oak forest rich in old wood and alder quarries. There are also red spruce stands in the NSG .

Protection purpose

The forest area is to be protected in the NSG. As with all nature reserves in Germany, the protection designation pointed out that the area became a nature reserve “because of the rarity, special character and beauty of the area”.
